Breaking the Sugar Habit: A Story About Mahatma Gandhi

Breaking the Sugar Habit: A Story About Mahatma Gandhi

In the 1930’s there was a young boy who was obsessed with eating sugar.  His mother was concerned, knowing that sugar is a ‘bad’ habit and not good for the health of her son. So she did her best to break him of the habit. She reasoned with him, she scolded him, but to no avail. Frustrated, she decided to take her son to see his idol, Mahatma Gandhi himself, hoping that her boy would listen to him.

Making their way to Gandhi was no easy task.  They walked for miles under the scorching hot sun. Finally, upon reaching Gandhi’s ashram, they found Gandhi Ji himself standing there. The mother explained, “Bapu, my son eats too much sugar. It is not good for his health. Would you please advise him to stop eating it?”

Gandhi listened to the woman carefully, thought for a while and replied, “Please come back after two weeks. I will talk to your son then.”

The Mother took her boy by the hand, returned home and in two weeks, they once again walked miles in the scorching son, making their way back to Gandhi, at which time he looked directly at the boy and said, “You should stop eating sugar.  It is not good for your health.”

The boy agreed.  He promised that he could end the sugar habit.  But the boy’s mother was puzzled.  After all, could he have not said that in the first place, saving them the arduous trip?

So she asked Gandhi Ji, “Bapu, Why didn’t you just tell him that two weeks ago when I brought him here to see you?”
Gandhi smiled and said, “I was not qualified to advise the boy at that time, as I too was eating lots of sugar.”

Church Experience in Karlsruhe-18 June 2017

Hi Friends,

I had a good experience today and I would like to share with you.
As you know that I am in Germany in this week , When I woke up in the Morning 6AM , I do not want to go to church as I do not know how to go to train station and so on... I felt that it is good to have a good sleep and read scriptures for 3 Hours. Most of the times I feel to read but do not read as satan always tempts.

When I woke up, I checked the whatsapp messages and missed calls. in my messages, I got a good Video from non LDS Friend with this message "Most of the people do spend lot of Money and time to go to Movies but not to the Temples. Most of the people spend time for unnecessary things but not for Prabhu (Lord)".I felt some what uncomfort and thought that "why I felt not to go to church today??" .Finally , I planned to go to Church.

I have requested Hotel receptionist and she helped me to go to Train station. It is very simple. I went to Karlsruhe (3 stations far-it is church area) and I walked towards to church but I lost the way and came back a mile.I prayed the Lord to get the area soon and I have requested few people and they said they do not know english/Place what I am searching for.I will miss the Sacrament if I did not reach to chapel in 15 minutes.I saw a couple crossing the road and asked them to tell me the address and they too even does not know English.I felt that Lord send these old couple to help me. They saw my Map(Paper)  and tried to help and asked to open my google  maps but there is no internet in my Mobile.
They opened their Mobile and showed me the way to go to Church. At last I reached to church and had Sacrament and felt happy

In Karlsruhe ward , they speak german and it is not an english speaking ward. Once the sacrament is over, I felt to come back. But felt that Lord gave me 3 hours to spend and understand his will so I personally learned the lessons in english by reading them in lds app. while they are teaching in German. I felt so Happy for his guidance  to go to His Church today and enjoy his blessings.

One of my friend came to the Church and we both had indian chicken biryani which he prepared. In 6 days of germany visit, I had a good indian food. I enjoyed seeing some places in Karlsruhe and I came back to Hotel

I would like to say that "Lord send his servants to help us in any situation when we are interested."
I know these things are true I say these things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen

Lessons learned from Kids

I have a problem with my Kids that –
1)If I ask them the eat food they will take 45 minutes
2)If I feed them , then it is 15 minutes
So that is the reason, I will feed them. I think all the Kids will be like above .No variety in it.
Today I tried it different way. While feeding, I asked them a question and requested answers
*Question* *1*: Almost all the people are using EARPHONEs to listen music/Radio/to attend calls. But some reasons, they are not interested to wear HELMET. So what best we can do to wear HELMETs
*Question* *2*: How can we reduce the Traffic and how can we avoid the accidents?
Answers:
1)I think Helmet with inbuilt  Ear phones and it should works with Blue tooth
2)I think DISPLY BOARDS (where my Kids saw at HITEC CITY –like , NO HELMET-fine 200/-) to be increased
3)I think someone/ Government  need to take initiation to advertise more on TVs and RADIOs about accidents
4)Our Vehicle(CAR/BIKE) should  be built with an APP where it will direct the different routes to reduce the delay in reaching the Destination
5)Our Mobile should not accept any Calls while driving .So there should /Must be an APP to understand our movements and it should help to control  the calls automatically
I AMAZED with the answers.....There are lot of answers like the above but I can remember this at this movement. The great thing I achieved is that I can able to feed them in 5 MINUTES…
